Tulsi is actually a chain of Indian restaurants we saw in a couple of places in New Zealand.  In Wellington, they’re located right downtown in the central pedestrian area.  They have a reasonably priced menu with lots of options.  It’s a casual restaurant that’s family friendly.  The decor was nice and provided a lovely backdrop for dinner.

Our first impressions weren’t exactly great.  The waiter was rude and couldn’t seem to get our order right.  In order to check on what we wanted he yelled over to us across the room. 

Things got much better once our food arrived.  Ian had the Bhola Balti which was a curry with a medley of beef, lamb, and chicken.  It was crazy spicy (even for Ian!) and excellent with very tender beef.

Wendy had the Sag Paneer which is Indian cheese cooked with spinach.  It was very authentic tasting right down to the “mild” still being very spicy!  It was deliciously flavorful.

Both dishes were served in cool dishes that helped add a special touch to the meal.   Overall, we greatly enjoyed our meal!
