The low key cellar door/tasting room at Brennan Winery in New Zealand's Central Otago wine region, is the only place to purchase their great wine.

Brennan Winery is located in Gibbston, in New Zealand’s stunning Central Otago wine region. Nestled in rows of wine grapes with a string of mountains as a backdrop, the cellar door/tasting room is small and unpretentious. Large windowed doors open onto a petanque area with picnic tables that invite you to linger and enjoy the fine wine and gorgeous views. Brennan Winery doesn’t export – to drink their delightful wine you need to make the trip.

We tasted the:

Brennan Winery, Gibbston, Central Otago. The views alone make it worth the trip. The great wine just sweetens the deal.

Gewürztraminer – Lovely! It had just been featured on The Big Bang Theory when we were there, which they were understandably very excited about. A bottle came home with us.

2007 Pinot Noir – Nice! We weren’t too fond of New Zealand’s red wines in general, but this one impressed us.

2008 Pinot Noir – Still too oaky for our taste – we didn’t feel it was ready yet.
