The Coral Bay Hotel is right on the Red Sea, just south of Aqaba.  Our room was a big step up from most of the rooms we were staying at.  It was large, clean and nicely decorated.  The balcony had a beautiful view out over the pools and the ocean. 

There is a kids pool and adults pool.  There are public bathrooms with showers right next to the pools which help to keep sand out of the pool area.  The pool unfortunately closes at 6pm and they were diligent about making us get out.  It was really too bad because it was SO hot while we were there in the middle of July that it was VERY comfortable in the pool at that time.  In fact, Aqaba is the only time we have actually managed to feel hot while IN the pool!  The pool was kept very clean and we really enjoyed swimming in it.

There is both a main hotel restaurant and a pool-side bar that serves snacks.  We ate in the restaurant several times and enjoyed the excellent service and pleasant setting.  The outdoor rock patio overlooking the pool is very pleasant at night although still very hot.  It was so hot during the day when we were there (50C, 120F) that the rock absorbed so much heat during the day that even when it cooled off at night, being next to the walls of the building with the roof of the patio over us it was very, very warm.  The food was good and they were able to accommodate Wendy being vegetarian.  

The poolside bar served up nice drinks with ice that didn’t make us sick :).  They also served snacks, including hot food, and it was a cheaper alternative to the restaurant.  Service was very good and the prices aren’t cheap but aren’t killer either.  You can order lunch from there to eat next to the pool during the day.  Very relaxing!

The beach was very pleasant, but not a nice soft sand. In addition the mattresses they insisted on providing with the beds were unbelievably nasty.  The snorkeling right off the beach was great.  Nice and easy and very relaxing!

There are computers in the lobby where you can use the internet for a reasonable price.
