With kids aged 3 and 5, it was very important for us to find a playground for the kids to burn off energy in – especially on driving heavy days. From Augustow, Poland to Riga, Latvia was a long haul – so we were very happy when after hours of googling, we found enough information to lead us to believe there was a playground at the top of a shopping mall in SAULĖS MIESTAS Mall, Siauliai, Lithuania. (Click link for google map). It was also not far from the Hill of Crosses, another worthwhile stop.
There is a “Charlie Pizza” location (which is a chain of kid-friendly pizza restaurants across the Baltics) with an indoor playground, and there’s also a huge outdoor playground with ride-on toys you can rent, and a fantastic sparkling clean outdoor playground. The cherry on the cake is a bar/restaurant right beside all of this, where you can sit down, have some delicious Lithuanian beer, and relax while staying within arm’s length of the kids. Why can’t we have nice things like this in the US?
