This morning we got up and headed to Andong. Went to the tourist info place on the way to the hotel and were instantly helped by someone in English (Koreans don’t speak English in general) and given a map, bus timetables, etc. all translated. Very, very organized! Found this hotel, and went for dinner at an Italian place.
It was a welcome change from the food we ate in Seoul. Apparently vegetarian Korean food is not for us, although the restaurants were packed with people both times, who seemed happy. (Although, on the plus side, it seems that the dairy products here are lactose-free just like they were in China. I can suddenly drink 2 things of chocolate milk, eat an ice cream cone (Baskin Robbins) and have mushroom pasta in a TON of cream sauce all in one day and feel fine! Hurray!)
Then we wandered around the downtown pedestrian area and market and did some shopping. Bought some great t-shirts with some AWESOME English on them. Although, sadly the one with the sequined silver butterfly and “Everything you expect in a detergent and a little more!” on it didn’t fit right…
